Reshane Hayles-Wilson was charged with first-degree murder on September 22, 2014

Mitchell was shot outside the North Kipling Community Centre/North Kipling Junior and Middle School on November 24, 2013 after 8 p.m.

Homicide Detective Sergeant Brian Borg said Mitchell was targeted while attending a community basketball game.

“Not very long after he arrived, Neeko was sought out by others and was, for all intents and purposes, ambushed and killed execution-style,” Borg said. “Neeko Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene and had no chance of survival.”

Reshane Hayles-Wilson, 23, of Mississauga was charged with first-degree murder after being arrested on September 22. An arrest warrant was issued for Hayles-Wilson in January this year.

The investigation is ongoing.
