Public Safety Alerts 33 Division

Police in 33 Division have released two public safety alerts related to recent assaults and a break-in.

There were three evening assaults since Sept. 11, in the Steeles Avenue East and Leslie Street area.

In all three of the occurrences, it is reported that a man approached the victims, punched them in the head and ran to an awaiting grey or blue SUV that would then drive away from the area.

He has been described as 15-18 years old, 5'9", 145 lbs., with a thin build and wearing dark clothing. 

The public should also take precautions when attending a funeral service. Police are currently investigating another residential break-and-enter where the owner of the Victoria Park Avenue/Finch Avenue East residence was attending a family funeral. 

Members of the public are advised to ensure that they lock their doors and windows when leaving their homes. Additionally, members of the public are encouraged to have a family member, friend or neighbor watch their homes when attending funeral services.
