Friends, family, colleagues and members of the public can nominate police officers, fire fighters and paramedics who have demonstrated outstanding delivery of services in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Award recipients will be selected based on the following three criteria: “Altruism”, “Dedication” and “Community Involvement”.
The Intercultural Dialogue Institure GTA has been giving Public Heroes Awards since 2011 to recognize the outstanding service of Toronto’s Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services for delivering their services in an ethnically and culturally diverse environment. In 2014, upon recommendation from its advisory board, the scope of the awards has been expanded to include the GTA.
To submit a nomination please visit publicheroes.org - click on GTA (Toronto).
The Selection committee will then cast their votes to determine the award recipients. One member from each service in all four regions of the GTA (Peel, York, Toronto and Durham) will be awarded with a Public Heroes Award.
The Awards Ceremony will take place on April 9 at the Oak Ridges Community Centre located at 12895 Bayview Avenue in Richmond Hill.
