High-powered Rifle Off Streets

A high-powered rifle and over 100 rounds of ammunition were recovered during a search warrant executed on February 22 in the Finch Ave. E. and Victoria Park Ave. area.

The Norinco semi-automatic rifle and 144 rounds of high power ammunition were seized.

“This is a serious weapon that can do a lot of damage and we are happy that it’s off the street,” said Detective Constable Barry Donnelly of 42 Division Major Crime Unit.

Kevin Alexander Douglas, 21; Michael Douglas, 55; Ashley Douglas, 19, and Joselyn Slaney, 27, all of Toronto, are facing several weapon and ammunition possession charges. In addition, Kevin Douglas and Slaney are charged with eight and four counts respectively of failing to comply with recognizance.
