In the event of a Canada Post mail service disruption, there may be a delay in processing time(s) for applications under the Police Reference Check Program.

Members of the Police Reference Check Program will notify the applicant when their completed background check has been forwarded to the Division near where they reside. Once notified, applicants are requested to please allow 2 to 3 days for the envelopes to arrive at the Division from Police Headquarters.

Please ensure the contact information you supply on your application form is accurate (telephone number/address).

Please contact our background check status line at (416) 808-8253 for up to date processing timelines.
