Officers Join in Deepavali

Service members who joined in the Deepavali celebration at a Scarborough temple were recognized for their work in the community.

On December 8, the Sri Lankan Con‎sulate honoured uniformed and auxiliary officers for their participation in the 2016 Deepavali (Diwali) Celebrations at the Periya Sivan Temple on October 30 that was organized by the Deepavali Celebration Committee, in co-ordination with the Sri Lanka Consulate in Toronto.

It was an event where members of the Sri Lankan community came together in the spirit of friendship with support of officers. 

Sergeant Kajan Kathiravelu, Detective Constable Surendran Sivadasan and Auxiliary Officers Kishona Neethirajah and Roshandiran Jeyasingam were invited to the Sri Lankan Consulate and presented with the letters of appreciation for the service they had extended at the event of Deepavali celebrations that drew 450 participants.

Acting Deputy Chief Richard Stubbings and Inspector Richard Hegedus also attended the event.
