A large box has been set up in the mall’s centre court (2300 Yonge St. at northwest corner of Yonge/Eglinton) where anyone can drop off a new, unwrapped toy.

Donated toys will be delivered to Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto and CP24 Chum Christmas Wish.

Constable Timothy Somers started the drive last year that garnered about 1,000 toys that were distributed by RioCan and Ronald McDonald House.

“This year, it’s a team effort and the officers at our Division are all involved,” said Somers.

On Thursday, December 15 starting at 7.pm., Staff Sergeant Matt Moyer and his rock band, Faded Genes, will be performing at a fundraising event for the toy drive initiative.

The show takes place at Seven44 Restaurant & Lounge at 744 Mount Pleasant Rd.

There will be raffle tickets on sale and door prizes.

The price of admission is $5 or a toy.

All proceeds will go to the toy drive.

Reservations are recommended by calling (416) 489-7931.
