A 26-year-old man, who is wanted in connection with several charges, including armed robbery and possession of a controlled substance, is this week’s 14 Division Fugitive Friday wanted person.
Stephen Atherley is described as six-feet tall, about 141 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a scar on his left hand.
On Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at around 4.05 p.m., Atherley is alleged to be with four other men who met another man outside the YMCA youth shelter at 7 Vanauley St.
The five accused parties suggested to the victim to attend a nearby parking garage located on Cameron St. The accused males and the victim walked to the ground level of the parking garage where they hung out and drank beer.
Shortly after, the five accused surrounded the victim and, with one of them holding a knife to his throat, demanded his belongings.
After being punched in his face several times, the victim handed over his phone and the password and was warned there could be repercussions if he called the police.
When the accused left the parking lot, the victim ran back to the shelter and called police.
The five accused were arrested and the victim’s cell phone was in Atherley’s possession.
Police warn that he’s is considered violent and should not be approached if located.
He is wanted on a warrant for:
- Armed Robbery
- Possession of Property By Crime
- Fail To Comply Probation
- Possession Of Controlled Substance
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Fail To Comply Recognizance
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Weapons Dangerous
