On January 16, 2014, Hold Up investigators released a video and photos of the suspect, who allegedly held up an Esso Gas Station at Finch Ave. E. and Markham Rd.

It’s alleged the suspect confronted the victim in the parking lot and forced him to return to the cashier’s booth. Armed with a rifle, which he pointed at the victim, the suspect took cash and lottery tickets and fled the scene.

On March 24, 44-year-old Kyle Harding was arrested without incident at his Oshawa home.

“We got the right tip which led us to the accused,” said S/Insp. Mike Earl. “He was alone at the time of the arrest.”

Earl added that Harding was not known to police prior to being identified as a suspect in the gas station robbery.

He will make his first court appearance on May 14.
