A man wanted in connection with a series of break and enters in the city’s east end was arrested by the 55 Division Major Crime Unit.
"We would like to thank both the media and the community for their assistance with this arrest," said Constable Rob McDonald, of information that was shared with police after a public appeal.
Dustin Knapp-Legault, 22, of Toronto, is facing seven counts of break-and-enter, six counts of fail to comply with probation, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, as well as a robbery and unlawfully at large charges.
He appears in College Park Court on June 25.
On Sunday, June 22 at around 2.30 p.m., police were called to an address in the Kingston Rd. and Waverly Ave. area where it was reported a man broke into a residence by forcing open a front door.
The homeowner returned during the robbery and confronted the suspect who had ransacked the house and had several items in his possession. The man fled after a physical altercation with the victim.
Detective Royce MacDonald said forensic evidence gathered at the scene identified Knapp-Legault, as a suspect.
The suspect is also wanted in 41, 43 and 54 Divisions for similar offences.
Police would like to hear from any victims that may have further information.
