Sex Offender Released

Sex Crimes investigators want to make the public aware of a sex offender being released from detention.

Shawn Bansfield, 58, has prior criminal convictions for sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation

The Toronto Police Service released a community safety notification to the public for Shawn Bansfield, 58, who is being released from custody today.


The public is being notified because of his history of sex offences against children and his potential to re-offend.


He is currently bound by a number of conditions, including the following:


• Not to attend any daycare centre, school ground, playground, arcade, public swimming area or public park where persons who are under the age of sixteen (16) are present or likely to be present


• Not to enter into any intimate relationship, cohabitation, marriage or common-law relationship with a person who is the parent or guardian of children under the age of sixteen (16) years until that person has been identified to the Toronto Police Service


He will be residing in Toronto, and possibly also in Montreal.


He is also known to go by the following names: Rene Shawn Bansfield, Shawn Rene St. Denis-Bansfield, Justin Michael Ryan, Ryan Windover, Justin Michael Bansfield, Justin Rene, Shawn St. Denis, and Rene Mansfield.
