The Service is gauging how well we’ve done with our interactions with the public to improve and build community connections.
A public survey has been launched so we can hear from all Torontonians and those who’ve had contact with the Toronto Police Service.
Chief Bill Blair said it is part of an overall plan to improve community safety.
“We are examining the entire Service to scrutinize what we do, how we do it, identify areas for innovation and improvement, and make the changes necessary to keep Toronto the safest big city in North America. That work is moving ahead. We must do our best to meet the expectations of those we are sworn to serve and protect, the people of Toronto,” Chief Blair said. “We cannot do that unless we have the support and assistance of the public to determine where we need to improve.”
The information obtained from this survey, combined with additional research being conducted, will be used to identify the actions that the Service will take in establishing and delivering upon a Quality Service Strategy.

The anonymous survey should take only 10 minutes to complete and will be available online until July 31.
Superintendent Randy Carter, who leads the new Strategy Management Unit, said the Service is listening to its own members as well as members of the community and partner agencies.
“We need to understand what we expect of each other and what the public expects of us, so we can strive to meet and, where possible, exceed those expectations, so we will all be more engaged to work closely together to keep neighbourhoods safe,” Carter said.
