Following a rash of break-and-enters this week, police are warning residents in 22 Division to secure their homes at night before going to bed.

There were four break-and-enters on one night at homes in the Brown’s Line & Lake Shore Blvd. W. area.

“The homes that were targeted were ones where people went to bed and left their doors unlocked,” said Detective Bruno Miron.

“We are, again, appealing to residents to close their doors and windows before retiring for the night.”

While residents in the south end of the Division have experienced a series of night-time break-and-enters, Miron said there is a 22 per cent decrease in this type of crime compared to last year.

“We are investigating the series of residential break-and-enters and would like to speak with anyone who was in these areas at the time and may have witnessed any suspicious activity,” he added.
