Investigators executed a search warrant at a Toronto residence on August 24 and arrested 24-year-old Franklin Afrifa. Charged with first degree-murder and attempted murder, he was expected to make a court appearance today.

Benard Asante, who also goes by the alias Benard Kissi, is wanted for first-degree murder and attempted murder. He’s described as black, approximately 5’5”, 130 pounds with cornrow braids.

“Lots of members from the community have come forward, we have had a lot of help from various units in our Service and there is a great deal of evidence gathered through video surveillance,” said Homicide Detective Sergeant Hank Idsinga.

He said Asante is to be considered armed and dangerous.

“Anyone who is with Mr. Asante and is harbouring him, if he is arrested with them, they will likely face charges of accessory after the fact of murder,” Idsinga warned.

The suspect is urged to contact his lawyer and turn himself into police as soon as possible.

Idsinga said the deceased was targeted and the firearm that was used in the murder is still outstanding.
