Suspect in Mall Sex Assault

UPDATE: On Thursday, August 7, 2014, Selvarajah Mahendirarajah, 50, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with three counts of Sexual Assault and Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance after a man allegedly sexually assaulted three women and a girl in Fairview Mall on August 6.

The assaults are alleged to have occurred between 8 and 9 p.m.

“We have a few leads that we are following up on,” said Detective Constable Lesley Henry, of 33 Division. “But, we are still seeking the public’s assistance.”

The suspect is described as White, 30-40 years old, 5’5”-5’8” with a medium to heavy build.

He was wearing a beige baseball cap, blue short sleeve button-down shirt with a white horizontal pattern, white shorts with a rip on the left leg and black shoes with white soles.

Police believe there may be more victims.

“We think there may be more victims that have not come forward and we are asking them to do so,” Henry said.
