Over 500 people attended the event, pledging more than $35,000 with 117 pledges, beating last year’s number of 107 pledges. Live and silent auctions were held to raise funds for Victim Services Toronto as well.

“We know victims, there’s no other agency that does what we do, or can do what we do,” said Bonnie Levine, Executive Director of Victim Services Toronto.

Chief Blair received two standing ovations for supporting Victim Services, once when he walked up to the podium and again as he ended his speech. The Chief said in his speech that “Victim Services produces an amazing return on public value,” and that they make an incredible difference in the lives of people. He added that this would be his last Gala as Police Chief.
