Sex Trade Worker Targeted

A man is facing charges after a 49-year-old sex-trade worker was sexually assaulted in downtown Toronto on July 22.

The victim was working at around 2.45 p.m. on July 22 in the  Dundas St. W. and Claremont St. area, when she was approached by the suspect posing as a client.

After the assault, she was treated at a hospital and released.

Peter Gorshkov, 31, of Toronto, was charged with aggravated sexual assault. He made a court appearance on July 24.

Police believe there may be other victims.

“During the course of our investigation, we received information that he may have targeted other sex-trade workers,” Detective Constable Raj Patel said, at a news conference at police headquarters, to make an appeal for any information about other attacks.
