He was fatally gunned down on August 19, just after midnight, in a laneway near Dundas St. E and Sherbourne St.

At a press conference at police headquarters on August 26, Detective Sergeant Mike Carbone said the deceased was with several friends in the area before heading to the laneway.

“He commenced walking eastbound on the north side of Dundas St.,” said Carbone. “At this time, a white vehicle travelling west on Dundas St. slowed down and stopped near the lane where up to four individuals exited the vehicle. It appears that Mr. Reid engages one of the individuals in a brief conversation at which time he is fatally shot.”

The victim succumbed to a single gunshot to the chest.

Carbone released images of a vehicle believed to be involved in the homicide.

“The vehicle is believed to be a white, newer-model Ford Taurus,” he pointed out. “It was seen in the area about an hour before the shooting.”

Adding that the deceased was known to police, Carbone is calling for assistance.
