Homicide investigators released video footage of the suspect seen moments before the murder of 42-year-old Alfredo Patriarca, who was shot in his garage shortly after parking his vehicle on the evening of January 20, 2015.
The video footage released shows a lone suspect entering the garage less than a minute after Patriarca arrived home after 6:20 p.m.
The offender is seen entering the garage and leaving eight seconds later in a southwest direction, towards the intersection of Princess Margaret Boulevard and The Kingsway.
He is wearing a jacket, which looks white in the video, but it could be a darker colour as well, said Detective Sergeant Joyce Schertzer. “The video system may have manipulated the colour, causing it to appear lighter.”
“We are releasing video depicting the offender approaching and leaving the crime scene. We would like the public to view the image captured on video in an effort to identify this person,” said Schertzer, appealing to the public for any information.
Schertzer said that, between the time Patriarca arrived and the suspect entered the garage, at least seven cars passed by. She has asked that people have a look at the video and search their memory for anyone matching the suspect’s appearance at the time of the incident, around 6:15 in the evening.
“The suspect may have been loitering alone or in the company of others and may have been observed in the area just prior to his arrival home, or may have been observed in days preceding the incident,” said the Detective Sergeant.
