Talil died shortly after that evening on September 2, 2002. And Ahmed has been on the run ever since.

Police have not given up looking for the wanted man, who has a Canada wide search warrant for him. Ahmed is now 32.

“Someone out there knows where this person currently is,” says Detective Sergeant Stacy Gallant. He said the Somali community, as well as residents of Etobicoke, will likely be the most helpful to the investigation.

“We have collected all the evidence involved in the matter. We need his location,” says Gallant.
