Doug McCormack, 49, charged in historic Sexual Assault investigation

It is alleged that Doug McCormack, now 49, sexually assaulted two boys and a girl, between October 1985 and 1987. One of the boys was eight, the other was 9-10 and the girl was 12 at the time.

McCormack was arrested two days after Toronto Police began an investigation on February 18.

“This was a case of people who started to talk and recognized the accused had allegedly done similar acts to each of them,” said Detective Sergeant Laurie Jackson of 14 Division.

“Thirty years later, they decided they couldn’t live with it anymore and contacted us.”

The accused is facing charges of sexual intercourse with a female under 14, four counts of sexual assault, indecent assault on a male and three counts of buggery.

“Mr. McCormack has befriended single women with children and offered to baby-sit them. He now lives in Peel where he has baby-sat numerous children in the complex he lives in. He also did the same thing when he lived in a townhouse complex in Halton,” added Jackson.
