Homicide investigators have released security camera video of two suspects wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Leonard Pinnock on April 21.

The 33-year-old Hamilton resident, dressed in red at the time, was in the Bowie Ave. and Dufferin St. area to drop off a friend in the early evening when he was murdered.

“He was there for a legitimate purpose and that was to give a friend a ride as a favour,” said Detective Sergeant Joyce Schertzer at a news conference at police headquarters on May 25. “Our investigative team has learned he was in the area for quite some time before he was fatally shot while sitting in the driver’s side of the vehicle.”

Schertzer hopes the images will cultivate further witnesses.

“While the video might be disturbing to some, I want viewers to take a good look at these individuals and, if their image, their clothing and/or their movement seem familiar, please contact police immediately,” said Schertzer.

She said the offenders are considered to be armed and extremely dangerous.

“I am hoping for names, I am hoping to cultivate people to come forward and say this is what I know,” Schertzer said. “There is nothing to suggest in Mr. Pinnock’s background a reason for any motive.”
