A suspect has been arrested and a warrant has been issued for another man in relation to the murder of 24-year-old Samatar Farah, who was fatally shot on April 15 in the Chester Le. Blvd. area.
Toronto Police with the assistance of their Ottawa counterparts executed 11 search warrants in Toronto and Ottawa on June 29.
As a result, Taufiq Stanley, 20, of Toronto was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He also faces eight others charges, including possession of a loaded firearm.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Alexander Fountain, of Toronto. He’s wanted for first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder.
“This guy should be considered armed and dangerous and we would like to get him off the streets as quickly as possible,” said D/Sgt. Hank Idsinga.
Two days before Farah’s murder, police were called to the Chester Le Blvd. area around 6 p.m. for a shooting.
It’s alleged that three men were outside a residence when two suspects approached and began shooting at them. The two suspects fled the area in a vehicle occupied by two other male suspects.
Trevor Barnett, 25, of Toronto, was arrested on June 29 and charged with attempted murder. Stanley, Fountain and 23-year-old Shaquan McLean of Toronto also face attempted murder charges in this case.
An arrest warrant was issued for McLean.
“We were able to put the pieces together because of diligent police work,” said Idsinga.
