An 83-year-old man missing since July 28 has been found.
Officers from 12 Division located Domingos Martins near Weston Rd. and the 401.
Superintendent Ron Taverner said the octogenarian was on the ground when officers came upon him at around 10.30 a.m. on August 2.
“It appeared he had fallen and wasn’t able to get up,” said Taverner. “He is alive and breathing. I don’t know what his actual physical condition is, but he is on his way to hospital to be checked out.”
Police and volunteers have been looking for Mr. Martins since he went missing last Friday around 5 p.m.
“We searched all kinds of areas in and around his home,” said Taverner. “The search area was expanded over the weekend and hundreds of volunteers, including his family members, formed the search party.”
Close to 90 officers from 12, 23 and 31 Divisions were engaged in the search.
“A lot of credit goes to a lot of people who did what was needed to find this man,” said Taverner.
