On Saturday January 25 at about 7.30 p.m., 11 Division Major Crime Unit officers collaborated with the Emergency Task Force and Police Dog Services to execute a search warrant in the area of St. Clair Ave. W. and Old Weston Road.

It’s alleged that several firearms, ammunition and explosives were seized from the address.

Oskar Berrios Juarez, 49, and Jennifer Neira, 35, of Toronto face several charges.

They include four counts of unauthorized possession of firearms, possession of firearms with altered serial numbers and 10 counts of making or possessing explosives.

Supt. Neil Corrigan said officers are working diligently to ensure that the city is safe.

“These high-powered weapons are capable of discharging multiple rounds and inflicting damage not only on the intended target, but those in close proximity,” he said. “Our officers are working around the clock to get weapons out of the hands of those not legally entitled to carry them.”

Juarez and Neira made a court appearance on January 27.
