Three people are facing second-degree murder charges in the death of 15-year-old Jeremiah Ranger.
On April 26, at around 5.51 p.m., the teenager was shot inside a vehicle parked on the road next to a parking lot at 1884 Sheppard Ave. W.
The alleged suspects are Tyler Young, 22, of Cambridge, and his 23-year-brother Seymour Young, of Toronto, along with Hannah Gaudet, 20, of Toronto.
At a media conference at 32 Division on May 4, D/Sgt. Henri Marsman said Toronto Police, with assistance from Waterloo Police, executed a search warrant in Cambridge on May 1.
“During that search warrant, Tyler Young was located and arrested,” he said.
Young made a court appearance at Old City Hall court on May 2.
Seymour Young and his girlfriend Hannah Gaudet surrendered to police at 32 Division on May 4. They made a court appearance via video a few hours later.
Marsman said police haven’t recovered a gun or established a motive for the fatal shooting.
“At this point, we haven’t established a clear relationship between the accused and the victim,” he said.
Marsman thanked the public for their assistance, 31 Division officers and the District Special Constable program for their video canvas help.
“The video canvas played a large role in identifying these suspects,” he said.
