On July 26 at around 1.47 a.m., police received a call for a shooting in the area of  Dawes Rd. and Halsey Ave.

At a media scrum on August 25, Insp. Lauren Pogue said at least four armed suspects attended a residential address in the area and forced entry in the residence demanding cash.

“Once inside, they opened fire on two victims who were both shot multiple times,” she said.

The armed suspects fled on foot to a white Dodge Ram pick-up that was parked on Halsey Ave. and they were last seen driving south on Dawes Rd.

Pogue said the shooting victims are still in hospital with serious and life-altering injuries.

One of the suspects is described as a white male, 5’8”, thin build and possibly long hair tied back. He was wearing a grey hooded sweater with a blue hood and arms, blue jogging pants and dark shoes.

The second suspect is a brown female, 20 years old about 5’8” to 6’0” and heavy build. She was wearing a grey hooded sweater with a Jump Man logo, blue tights and dark shoes.

The third suspect is a male 5’8” to 6’0”, heavy build and he was wearing a grey sweater with blue design on the front, dark blue pants and dark shoes.

The fourth suspect is male 5’8” to 6’0” and thin build. He was wearing a black Adidas hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes.

The Dodge Ram pick-up seen fleeing the area is a newer model vehicle with black rims and a black bed liner.

Pogue said one of the victims was also targeted in a shooting that occurred on May 23, 2020, at 5.39 p.m.

“We received a call for the shooting in the area of Don Mills Rd. and Overlea Blvd.,” she said. “Witnesses describe three suspects with at least two armed with firearms.”

The suspects confronted the two victims, opening fire and striking both multiple times before fleeing on foot.

The victims were transported to hospital where they received treatment for their non-life threatening injuries.

Pogue said detectives believe the shooting may be linked to the home invasion and may involve the same victims.

In this incident, police are looking to identify the suspects, including an individual shown in a composite sketch.

One suspect is described as male, tanned, about 20 years old and 5’10” to 6’0” with thin build and long braided hair. He was wearing a black Adidas jacket with three white stripes down the arm and dark pants.

The second suspect depicted in the artist rendition is described as male Black, 5’4” to 5’6” and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing black clothing.

The third suspect is described as female Brown, 20 years old, 5’8” to 6’0”. She was wearing a dark fitted hooded sweater, black tights and dark shoes.
