It’s alleged that officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle in the shooting.

They followed the vehicle as it fled. It was abandoned a short distance away.

A Norinco rifle was located in the abandoned vehicle with two fully loaded magazines.

On November 14, the Central North District Major Crime Unit executed search warrants at two residences in the Don Mills Rd. and Graydon Hall Dr. area.

They located a .40 caliber Sig Sauer semi-automatic handgun with ammunition and a laser detachment. The firearm was stored in an unsafe manner, fully loaded and readily accessible to a child.

Nicholas Juman, 19, of Toronto, faces 11 charges, including possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm obtained by crime.

Estime Ndayiheazgiye, 18, of Toronto, is facing 13 charges.

Supt. Bryan Bott, the Superintendent of Toronto Police Service Central North District, said the arrests and seizure of the firearms are the result of excellent police work and the co-ordinated efforts of several units.

“The work done by the responding Primary Response Unit (PRU) officers and the follow up done by members of Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) and the Community Response Unit assisted our Major Crime Unit in identifying suspects,” he said. “Further investigation by our Major Crime Unit led to the execution of search warrants, with the assistance of the Emergency Task Force and the seizure of another firearm.”
