Connecting with our communities, being innovative and forward thinking, leading and inspiring, and most importantly, being accountable and delivering results, are key cornerstones to policing. Delivering our services while earning the respect of our communities is the foundation of our success. It takes the right person in the role to make this happen, which is why TPS is committed to recruiting the best people to join our service.

Our Career Outreach Team hosts General Information Sessions twice a week to provide candidates with an in-depth understanding of what the requirements are and how to be a competitive candidate. They are also an opportunity to engage with a recruiter and ask questions. We highly recommend that all applicants attend one of these sessions prior to submitting an application. Registration is required and can be done through our  tps.on.ca/careers website by clicking on the ‘Information Session Registration’ icon, ‘View All Jobs’ and then selecting a General Information Session that suits your schedule.

We are committed to modernizing our Service, which includes efforts to diversify all ranks and roles in policing, and providing the necessary supports and opportunities to succeed. For instance, it is an exciting time for women in policing and we encourage women to apply to join the Toronto Police Service. While women work in every facet of our organization and contribute at all levels towards the safety and security of Torontonians, we are dedicated to increasing the number of women in our ranks. Now more than ever, women are in key leadership positions, driving change and paving the way for future generation of women in policing. Our Career Outreach Team hosts ‘Women in Policing General Information Sessions’ the first Wednesday of each month, as well as monthly community-specific information sessions for our diverse communities.
